so after deciding that i would love an entry level dSLR for christmas, i asked and persuaded the hubby to let me get one. here’s a bit of history: my first digital camera was a hp 3.2mp that performed well. my next one was the canon powershot g6 (awesome camera and discontinued). i sold that cause i wanted a pocket size cammy and got the powershot sd550. i like that camera okay but still love the g6 more. regret selling it.
so now i got the nikon d40! it’s only 6 mp but for what i need, it’s fine. now i just hope i can learn everything about it.
18-55mm lens
55-200mm VR
i got the camera kit with the 18-55mm lens and added the 55-200mm VR (vibration reduction), lens, bag, strap, filter, and book for $627 from amazon. hey even costco have it for $700 or so i justify to myself.
this quote from Caroline describes me to a T: “I have more hobbies and interests than my attention span can handle. I love to learn new things but never master anything. I love to start new projects but hardly ever finish them.”
see those empty shelves? she’ll have them jammed in no time.
faith playing educational games…lol
faith’s sleeping in her own room now. the transition was super duper easy! i swear i thought i was gonna have a harder time trying to get her to sleep by herself. she’s a real trooper in this whole process. so she’s getting sleeping beauty beddings for christmas.

 welcome to the club! i still got my d70  nice well let me know how you like it

oh you should have gotten the canon rebel xti for 600 something and it’s way more powerful. Dell is currently have really good promotion on the same camera I have. I personally think the D40 didn’t have a good review for it that is why i didn’t get it. Anyway hope you like the camera…..

cyn, i was initially looking at the rebel but from the reviews, i get the impression the nikon would be much easier for people going from p&s to slr.
and trust me, i’m a real novice so i didn’t want to be freaking out. lol

same here to i didn’t know how to use the canon dslr. actually i heard that canon is more user friendly than the nikon. The nikon has more button functions.
