to wrap things up for january (already!), i bought some movies that i’ve been wanting. now, we don’t do movies at the theaters and we rent [movies] once every couple a months so i tell myself it’s okay to spend a bit when i do add to my collection.
here’s a crackdown of my shopping carts today:
from yesasia.com:
1) a chinese odyssey (restored & remastered edition) [read the awesome review here!]
include part 1 & 2, photobook, and special features
2) royal tramp 3 disc edition (remastered)
include part 1 & 2 and bonus features disc
when we bought our plasma at best buy, i signed up for their rewards program so i got $15 in rewards certificate back. i wasn’t sure what i was going to buy until i saw these (and the light!):
1) police story 1 – special collector’s edition
restored and comes with bonus features
2) police story 2 - special collector’s edition
restored and with special features
the policy story duo ended up costing me all of $9.34! what a deal!
you can say i’m more likely to rewatch movies from the 80′s and 90′s than the new movies that are popping out left and right now (except for donnie’s). and who doesn’t enjoy stephen chow and jackie chan’s movies? they are what hong kong movies are all about! all these are totally must see! i can’t wait to check out the special features!
next to add to my collection? donnie’s seven swords, jackie’s project a 2, amour of god 1 & 2, crime story, the canton godfather (aka miracles), yuen biao’s on the run, shanghai shanghai, and hero.

I don’t find yesasia.com has a good bargain when buying dvd movies. Do you understand Cantonese? Do you watch TVB chinese dramas? Let me know.

yesasia doesn’t have the best bargains for dvds but i find them okay most of the time, plus they are only a few hours away so i get the dvds faster.
a few other sites have dvds at a cheaper price but they have shipping charges too and i always get free shipping from yesasia (over $30). i also get a few dollars from being an associate so that helps.
i don’t understand cantonese or mandarin at all. i wish i do. LOL some words are dead on with my language though. that’s why i always have to have subtitles. my friends used to ask me why i watch them so much when i can’t understand? and they don’t like reading subtitles. it has never bothered me.
