Review: Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence

I have never been much of a toner person. Oh I have tried a bunch of them but I did not see any benefit that made me want to continue using them. Also, being the dry, combo skin person I am, most of the ones I tried only made my skin dryer. I even tried a sample of the much raved about SKII Treatment essence. I did not feel it made a difference and therefore left toner alone for a long while.

In July, I got interested in the Korean Skincare routine and was reading this article at Into The Gloss when to my surprised, toner is considered the most important step by the author! I had to be doing something wrong. Her example of a toner is the Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence, which is compared to the much more expensive SKII. It is made of fermented yeast and here is how Missha describes it:

The very FIRST step to your skin care regimen.

Back to the Basics, a Stepping Stone to a Healthier and New Skin.
Contains 80% Fermented Yeast Concentrate, which absorbs into skin instantly to energize your skin. Also contains Niacinamide, a Vitamin B3 component, to improve skin elasticity, enhance skin barrier function, and revive skin tone and texture. DN-Aid, made from Cassia-Alata Extract, provides vitality to aging skin, protects DNA from aging caused by UV rays, and promotes restoration of damaged DNA.

THE FIRST TREATMENT ESSENCE improves fine lines and skin tone. The miracle water hydrates, restores, rejuvenates, and gives you a glowing complexion.

Do you know what YEAST is?
YEAST is a naturally fortified Vitamin B Group. Vitamin B supports and increases the rate of metabolism and maintains healthy skin.
Recently, more and more researches prove fermented yeast extract to be a good source for skin care products.

That was it. I was ready to venture into another toner trial and I want to try the Missha. I found it for less than retail on Amazon and ordered a bottle. In about 2 weeks, it was in my hands. Boy, this bottle is really beautiful. It is heavy and made of clear glass. I like that. You can see exactly how much product is in the bottle and no guessing when you’re running low.

I tried it that night, on damp skin and I love the way it felt. There is no noticeable scent, is clear just like water and seems to help hydrate my skin. I don’t use a cotton ball and instead use my hands. I pour a bit into the middle of my palm, rub both palms together and apply straight to my face. I feel this doesn’t waste any of the product. A week passed by and I am still loving it. It doesn’t break me out which is a big big plus. I feel it helps prevent the dry and tight feeling I sometimes get from cleansing or exfoliating. It is now December and it has made Holy Grail status for me. Totally. Awesome.

I am on my second bottle of this awesome goodness and have just placed an order for the 3rd bottle 5 days ago as part of a set from TesterKorea. Have you try this or a similar toner? How did it work for you?
