it’s getting closer and closer to my girl’s 6th birthday – wow! it’s really been 6 amazing years!
hubby and i went to borders the other day looking for something to get her since we’re not buying much this time around. we came across the last copy of tinkerbell and we knew she’s going to LOVE it! actaully, hubby and i can’t wait to watch it too, funny huh?

i can’t wait to see her face when she opens this up. lol
today is my first day on leave – it fells great! i get to stay home and do nothing but spend time with the girls. i still have to go to the doctor’s 3x a week until the baby comes but that’s alright. it’s just nice to take things slowly and easily and not have to worry about rushing here and there.
anyway, i’m looking forward to the next couple of months of quality family time.

i’m officially full-term! i’m 37 weeks and 2 days and ever since i was told i’m gestational, i’ve not gain a pound. i guess that’s good right? i did gained a total of 30 pounds.
faith is also turning 6 next wednesday and she’s really really excited!! we’re planning a birthday bash for her – i’m hoping to make it both frugal and as eco-friendly as i possibly can within budget. that means we’re not using any plastic plates, cups, or utensils. i don’t think i have enough cloth napkins so if i have to, i’ll have to hunt for some recycled-napkins.
we are going to pick out some cake mixes and bake the cake ourselves instead of buying – she’ll love that. we created and printed invitations last night – they’re very cute! as for food, i’m going to make some curry noodles and some asian salad.
for party favors, i’m going to check out the dollar store as they’re suppose to have cute little inexpensive things that i can get.
we aren’t doing a lot of gifts this year – i’m going to give her a target giftcard – the $25 that i got from the nicole’s advantage (i switched the card to a “happy birthday” giftcard), a gift basket, and a personalized story book. that way she can go shop for something she likes.
for now, i hope the little guy will wait until sometime after his sister’s birthday bash to make an appearance.

last night, faith started vomiting. i’m not sure why. she couldn’t keep anything in her tummy and had no fever. my poor baby throwing up! aaahh…
james went online and search for some things and found an article on kids vomiting with a little bit of info on what to give them to calm their tummies. it was a mixed of water, salt and sugar i believe. since she even threw up plain water, i wasn’t sure what to give her.
after drinking a bit of that concotion, she actually looked better and said she didn’t feel like she was going to puke. she went to bed okay and this morning, she’s looking better. i’m just super glad that worked.
james was commenting on how you can find just about anything on the internet. it’s both a good and bad thing, hmmm?

no, it’s not the nokia n95 (can’t afford it at over $500!) but i settled on the lg shine because 1) it’s red, 2) it’s a slider, 3) it looks beautiful, 4) love the design, 5) feels solid and 6) it’s red (did i say that already?).

we went to the storytime arts and crafts class yesterday at the local library and i was able to test out the camera quality of this phone. all i can say is, not bad at all! below are some shots, straight out of the camera.

laughing for mommy

here, let me kiss you

pretty dolls!

these are china dolls, i believe

we took faith out of preschool because of issues with getting her to school.
she’s always asking to go to school or play school at home. last week, my coworker mentioned that he and his wife have been homeschooling (independent study?) their 4 daughters right at the beginning. his oldest is about 18 now.
i was and still am amazed! i guess the term was somewhere in my subconscious mind but it took that comment to get it out in the open. i started asking him questions and it was funny because james and i talked about it about 1 year ago.
it is only mandatory for kids to go to school when they are 6 or starting 1st grade. i figure if i want to get my feet wet with homeschooling, i have plenty of time.
i went on various sites and read various things on homeschooling, free supplies and print outs, programs, curriculum, and other parents opinions. i even joined a local homeschooling group in our area and information from this board are super informative!
i love the idea of homeschooling and am afraid once she’s bigger that i won’t have enough hours in the day to homeschool but i shall improvise then.
we currently have no structure or routine and kinda just take things randomly but we do a lot of reading together and recognizing letters. i bought hooked on phonics for preschool, brainquest, a preschool reading book, a preschool work book, early bird singapore math, science and we’re picking up some other books from the local library when they are available.
so fair, faith loves it and james is totally supportive. i kinda just spend an hour or so and we do various things. i’m trying to plan a social event each weekend so she’s got people to interact with other than us and she’ll be enroll in gymnastics again next month. on days where i pick them up and work overtime, i would be so tired but we still read a bit if nothing else.
we are buying a season pass to the local pools and parks. i am really excited about this and love spending time with faith to teach her new things. it’s no surprise that i get paranoia each and very single time i hear a news story about someone bringing guns to school and school shot outs. in my mind at least, i’ve found a way that makes me feel better.

i was able to watch a few episodes of the drama “dreams link” aka “dream behind the curtain” and it was really good. however, after episode 5, there’s no more subs so i’m on a withdrawal. alex fong look and acted very well from what i’ve seen and looks great with the younger girl even though he’s 20 years older. i really hope they have english subs soon. i’m on a cliffhanger here….*yikes*
