Introducing Olay!

I remember Olay from my early years. I remember using the sensitive SPF 15 moisturizer and really liked it. Then some of their products I tried afterwards dried me out and I stopped looking at Olay for years.

Well, I’m back to just not look but incorporate some of their products in my current skincare routine. And I’m excited! Very much so! Take a look!

There is no introduction needed for Olay as they are a popular drugstore brand. One of their most popular line is the Regenerist (anti-aging) line though I have not been tempted to try until a few weeks ago. What brought my attention back to them was their Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting products, which include a cleanser, facial oil, treatment, and cream with niacinamide being the key ingredient. In my excitement to give the cream and treatment a try, I also bought the Regenerist Serum (fragrance free) version.

I’ve been using the serum for about 2 weeks and like it enough that I may repurchase. There’s no fragrance so I’m happy and it’s not breaking me out more than I usually do. The texture is light but not liquidy and I use a pump and 1/2 each time. I am hoping to reap the anti-aging benefits of course and love that it includes niacinamide too.

The Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting cream was incorporated to hopefully fade my melasma / hyperpigmentation. I started this a few days after the serum. I love the light cream and the smell (which I find lovely!). It’s not thick and doesn’t provide enough moisturizer if you’re more on the dry side. I don’t mind however. I actually prefer it that way and would rather use an oil for extra hydration than to be using a thick moisturizer. For some reason, the first 2 times I applied it, the product balled up. I’m not sure why. All the times afterward, I have not had it happen again which is quite weird but I’m happy. I do love applying it! LOL

I have not use the Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Treatment as that is my replacement for the Sulwhasoo Snowise Ex Brightening Spot Serum. I have a few more samples of that to finish up and will move the Olay in. I decided on this as niacinamide is the 2nd ingredient for both products. Close enough right?

As of now, I will most likely repurchase the serum and cream unless I feel they’re not doing enough to justify the cost. I will update after I use these up to see if there’s any improvement to the “tone perfecting” claim. That will most likely be the deciding factor on repurchasing.
